Senior Roadway Inspector

Responsibilities
- Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
- Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
- Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
- Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
- Aid the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules, RFI’s etc).
- Aid the Project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination.
- Attend progress meetings and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues.
- Supervise Junior Inspectors.
- Inspect and test soils, concrete, steel, and masonry materials for road and bridge projects.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I ACI Concrete Technician CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II CTQP Pile Driving Inspection CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)
- CTQP Grouting Technician Level I CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I CTQP Final Estimates Level I CTQP QC Manager Nuclear Radiation Safety
- FDOT Intermediate MOT Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a heavy emphasis on Excel, Word, FDOT Sites.
- Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Qualifications
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Observing general job safety practices.
- Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
Skills
- The ability to work as a team is essential.
- Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
