[01] About This Role You will own design across client engagements end-to-end: discovery workshops, user research, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity design, and design QA through launch. You will work closely with our developers to make sure what gets designed is what gets built. You will not be handed a brief and asked to make it look good. You will be part of the strategic conversation from day one, helping clients understand what their members actually need and where their current site fails them. [02] What You Will Do Lead discovery: Lead discovery and user research: stakeholder interviews, member surveys, analytics reviewsBuild IA: Build information architecture and sitemaps for sites with 50 to 500+ pagesDesign: Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces in FigmaDesign systems: Develop design systems and component libraries that scale across a client site and beyondPartner with dev: Partner with developers during build to ensure design fidelity and flag tradeoffs earlyAccessibility: Review for accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA compliance is a baseline, not a bonus [03] What We Are Looking For Experience: Seven or more years of UX/UI design experience, with at least three leading projects end-to-endPortfolio: Strong portfolio of content-heavy, functional sites: not just marketing landing pagesTools: Expert-level Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, design systems)Research: Comfort running discovery workshops and user research directly with clientsAccessibility: Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility standards and how to design for themCommunication: Clear verbal and written communication: you can present work to an executive director and defend decisions Nice to Have Prior work with associations, nonprofits, or membership organizationsExperience designing for WordPress or Drupal builds (understanding what the CMS can and cannot do natively)Motion or prototyping experience for complex interactionsSome comfort with HTML/CSS: enough to communicate with developers and inspect browser behavior [04] What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with senior-level experienceFully remote, US-based: no required hours or fixed schedule as long as deliverables shipHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysAnnual stipend for professional development, conferences, and Figma/toolingWork that ships: our projects launch on schedule and get used by real members
