Job Description Essential Functions And Primary Duties Underwrite, service, and manage assigned accounts of high *complexityMay have production goals assigned and measured on new business goal attainmentPrepare and maintain periodic reports pertinent to the ongoing operation of the departmentMonitor and evaluate programs for profitabilityAssess exposure and determine rates, terms and conditions of coverage in accordance with guidelines and uses judgement underwriting to evaluate a riskDetermine either to accept, modify, or decline risks and request reinsurance as necessaryDecrease value of policy when risk is substandard to limit company obligation, and specify applicable endorsements, or apply rating to ensure safe and profitable distribution of risksDevelop or modify policy wording when standard text is not appropriateBind coverage and initiate issuance of documentsSign policy and authorize transmittal of documents to brokers and markets as requiredAdditional responsibilities as assignedComplexity is based on the degree of uncertainty, financial risk, technical requirements, urgency, and volume or size. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED requiredAt least 5 years of underwriting experienceMust maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertiseDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externallyAdvanced customer service skillsProficient use of applicable technologyAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAbility to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities About Us CBIZ, Inc.
