Senior Ultrasound Technologist - Ultrasound IP - Orange - FT - Variable

About the role

Reporting to the Ultrasound Supervisor, the incumbent performs a full range of basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures and more complex specialized procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, adjusting equipment to best demonstrate the area of interest, and operating various stationary and portable imaging systems. The role requires rotating shifts and assignments, including holiday rotation, and may involve assisting in the training of technologist students. Professional conduct is expected in all interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging.
• Adjust ultrasound equipment to optimize imaging of the area of interest.
• Operate stationary and portable ultrasound equipment and imaging systems.
• Rotate shifts and assignments, including holidays, as needed.
• Assist in the training of technologist students.
• Demonstrate professional conduct in interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Perform specialized exams, including but not limited to:
  • NICU ultrasounds
  • Vascular surgery imaging
  • Breast imaging
  • Dialysis access studies
  • Arterial upper and lower extremity exams
  • Carotid Doppler studies
  • TIPPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) procedures

Requirements

• Active A.R.D.M.S. certification.
• Three years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Experience with pediatric ultrasound, including neonatal heads.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system.
• May be assigned to work in ambulatory clinics.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
• Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
• A.R.D.M.S. certification in at least two specialties.
