Senior UAT Tester
About the Role
The Senior UAT Tester role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements, defect resolutions, and release cycles. This position plays a critical role in validating that system changes meet business and operational requirements, supporting release readiness, and ensuring smooth transitions during go-live and post-implementation phases.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute UAT activities for system enhancements, defect fixes, and releases.
- Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, inventories, and acceptance criteria from requirements and workflows.
- Translate business, policy, operational, and technical needs into test scenarios.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, release validation, and production validation testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects and issues.
- Support UAT kickoff, daily huddles, defect triage, readiness reviews, stakeholder walkthroughs, go-live preparation, and post-release retrospectives.
- Cook up with business users, vendors, IT leadership, project managers, and subject matter experts to confirm scenarios and support release readiness.
- Use Jira to track testing tasks, defects, milestones, and reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive UAT documentation in SharePoint.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and release readiness clearly to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with training, operations, policy, and change management teams to support release impact and training readiness.
- Support go-live readiness, release decisions, post-implementation validation, and follow-up activities.
Requirements
- At least three years of recent experience in testing, quality assurance, business analysis, system implementation, or modernization.
- Experience supporting UAT across the testing lifecycle including scenario design, script development, execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Ability to translate requirements, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria into test cases and validation evidence.
- Experience maintaining Test Script Inventories, traceability materials, defect logs, validation summaries, and status reporting.
- Proficiency in functional, regression, integration, release validation, or production validation testing.
- Experience using Jira or similar tools for defect tracking and test management.
- Strong communication skills for reporting progress, risks, and acceptance recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, facilitation, documentation, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience with Medicaid, health and human services, eligibility, claims, encounter, MMIS, or integrated eligibility systems.
- Vendor-managed Medicaid systems or public sector technology environments.
- Release readiness and go-live preparation.
- Coordinating with cross-functional and vendor teams.
Pay, Benefits, and Schedule
The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 to $120,000. Final salary will depend on experience, education, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
