Senior Travel Specialist
Job Responsibilities
- Consult with customers regarding their travel needs.
- Aid in planning and booking air, rail, and car rentals, ensuring compliance with institutional travel policies and responsible use of hospital funds.
- Manage reservations by confirming, monitoring, and adjusting reservations for changes, cancellations, and fare savings.
- Resolve service issues in collaboration with vendors and escalate when necessary.
- Negotiate group and convention discounts, coordinate hotel meeting services, and manage travel-related donations, including free travel.
- Provide travelers with guidance on passports, visas, vaccines, and other requirements while tracking and maintaining records of tickets, vouchers, and donations.
- Perform additional duties to achieve departmental goals, maintain accurate records, and ensure reliable attendance.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Consistently meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirement: 5+ years of experience in full-service corporate travel environment or related areas.
- Experience Exception: Bachelor's with no experience.
- Experience with tasks that involve managing routine or repetitive activities, high attention to detail and clear communication are critical.
- Experience with the Sabre reservation system preferred.
- Knowledge of fare construction, exchange procedures, and airline policies preferred.
- Demonstrated strong experience working with office technologies, including Microsoft Office (Word/ Excel/PowerPoint, etc.).
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage routine or repetitive activities.
- Experience with Sabre reservation system.
- Knowledge of fare construction, exchange procedures, and airline policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Pay
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $24.00 - $42.00 per hour for the role of Senior Travel Specialist.
Schedule
This position may be eligible for remote work. However, St. Jude requires all remote employees to: Travel to our Memphis campus for the interview process and/or orientation (if selected). Travel to Memphis to be on-site once per quarter, or as requested based on business needs, if hired.
