About the role

As a Senior Travel Consultant, you will deliver courteous and consultative travel arrangements, demonstrating expertise in routing, faring, and travel logistics for domestic and international reservations, including air, car, hotel, and rail. You will adhere to company policies and standards as well as client travel policies and booking requirements, ensuring proper documentation and providing the lowest, logical fare options. This role involves mentoring less experienced team members, supporting multiple accounts (Corporate, Marine, Energy, and Offshore clients), and handling urgent, time-sensitive travel needs, emergencies, and high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure service delivery and customer satisfaction through a consultative approach.
  • Deliver operational requirements and apply appropriate travel policy guidelines according to client specifications.
  • Ensure data quality standards are met, including reporting elements and traveler profile information.
  • Follow best practices for booking and issuing tickets, including all reservation elements such as seat assignments and special requests.
  • Provide advice and consultation to clients regarding international documentation.
  • Master proprietary and third-party technologies required to perform job functions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applications, including telephony and computer skills, as well as industry expertise in international reservations.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of Corporate, Marine, and Energy/Offshore client requirements, including published and contract fares.
  • Work efficiently to provide prompt service, meet productivity standards, and manage incoming calls and emails within service level expectations.
  • Maintain queues, follow up on client requests, and assist team members with overflow work and tasks.
  • Make suggestions for process improvement and take initiative to solve problems.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, support co-workers and management, and volunteer for departmental projects or company initiatives.
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third-party companies.
  • Take steps to avoid debit memos and errors, and embrace technology initiatives.
  • Provide after-hours coverage during weekdays and scheduled weekend shifts to support urgent travel needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Corporate Travel Advisor experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Overall understanding of technology platforms, GDS functions, and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of international reservations, geographies, faring, and routings.
  • Consultative service skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in Corporate, Marine, Offshore, and Energy travel industry.
  • Capable of sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
  • Initiative to improve processes and support management and company objectives.
  • Experience assisting with multiple Corporate client accounts for Marine/Offshore and/or Energy travel.

Schedule

This role is 100% remote. Preferred hours are 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST; alternatively, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST. The position requires after-hours coverage during weekdays and scheduled weekend shifts to support urgent and time-sensitive travel needs.
