Senior Transportation Construction Inspector

About the role

This position is part of HDR’s Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) program. The ideal candidate will perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and/or bridge construction projects, adhering to North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Identify discrepancies or conflicts within contract documents
  • Enforce contract documents
  • Manage other inspectors as needed
  • Perform site visits and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with NCDOT policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in construction inspection
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
  • NCDOT experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
