Senior Transfer Evaluator
About the Role
Under limited supervision, this position supports student enrollment and program completion by enforcing and implementing transfer credit articulation standards. Responsibilities include researching and managing transfer credit equivalency repositories, awarding prior learning assessments, determining equivalency for upper-division courses, assessing foreign commercial evaluations, and compliantly managing military coursework in alignment with Veteran Affairs requirements. The role also involves determining transferability of credit from domestic and foreign post-secondary institutions, utilizing student information systems, and collaborating with academic subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
- Manage equivalency research (35%):
- Analyze institution legitimacy in alignment with U.S. Department of Education approval.
- Research and analyze coursework to determine general education applicability and curriculum changes.
- Utilize microfiche, online catalog archives, and communications with external institutions to verify course content.
- Apply analytical skills to recommend process improvements and assess transfer articulation viability.
- Research inefficiencies in international documentation and commercial evaluations.
- Communicate with NACES members and engage in professional development opportunities.
- Utilize systems and tools (20%):
- Use degree audit, academic transcripts, and national repositories (e.g., CollegeSource) to update equivalencies.
- Implement Florida College and University Postsecondary Articulation guidelines and SACSCOC requirements.
- Process student grades, transcripts, and academic credentials in compliance with policies.
- Evaluate and assess credit (10%):
- Assess foreign and domestic university-level transfer coursework, military training, and prior learning assessments.
- Update forms for military, PLA, articulation, and dynamic evaluations.
- Attend curriculum committee meetings to stay updated on institutional course changes.
- Manage caseloads of incoming transfer student transcripts and collaborate with academic advisors.
- Provide policy recommendations and training (15%):
- Maintain and update transfer articulation agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with transfer articulation requirements.
- Onboard and train new transfer evaluation team members (6–10 months of instruction).
- Train evaluators on credit evaluation standards, system tools, and state mandates.
- Conduct presentations for advising teams on evaluation process updates.
- Apply FERPA compliance standards in handling student records.
- Support student services and resolve issues (10%):
- Provide training and guidance to admissions, advising, and student records teams.
- Mitigate issues related to student access and academic record evaluation.
- Manage helpdesk ticket requests for transfer credit updates.
- Research historical Broward College catalogs and state/national compliance requirements.
- Attend national and state training to maintain best-in-class standards.
- Investigate and update student records (5%):
- Electronically request transcripts via FASTER to resolve equivalency issues with Florida institutions.
- Perform related duties (5%): As assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Six years of experience as a Transfer Evaluator, including:
- Researching course equivalency.
- Collaborating with academic subject matter experts.
- Evaluating student academic transcripts.
- Experience in admissions, advisement, or student records.
- Experience resolving complex issues with a focus on customer satisfaction and service delivery standards.
- Senior administrative capabilities.

Pay
$52,900 – $62,158 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
Schedule
- Full-time, regular position.
- Monday–Friday; weekends may vary.
- 40 hours per week.
