Senior Traffic Engineer - Transportation Planner
Certifications
The successful candidate will hold an AICP Certificate or Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead complex transportation studies and traffic impact analysis
- Manage project teams and provide technical oversight for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develop and review intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and geometric designs
- Direct parking demand studies and multimodal transportation assessments
- Prepare and review technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies
- Lead client meetings and project presentations
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
- Contribute to business development initiatives and proposal preparation

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning; 8-12 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning; Proven expertise with traffic analysis software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM; Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS; Expert knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); Expert knowledge in Traffic Signal Design; Expert knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans
- Desired Skills and Competencies: Project management experience with demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects; Strong client relationship management skills and business development experience; Proven track record of managing project budgets and schedules; Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; Expert technical writing and presentation skills; Strategic problem-solving abilities with focus on innovative solutions
