About the role

Gilead Sciences is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology to represent our products and services to healthcare practitioners within the Northern New Jersey territory. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products, actively promote appropriate use of Gilead products, and develop an understanding of the unique issues and opportunities in each geography.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in oncology therapeutic areas.
  • Actively promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate peer leadership by consistent application and modeling of compliance, behavior, and conduct.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor sales progress and create action plans to achieve goals.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other expenditures.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal Gilead team members.
  • Collaborate with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities and communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Commit to Gilead's ongoing Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Gilead's Drug Safety and Public Health department and other internal departments as appropriate.
  • Perform all administrative functions required of the position, including reporting call activity and customer information into the appropriate call reporting system, submitting expenses, etc.
  • Adhere to regulatory agency, state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Advanced influencing and relationship-building expertise with a focus on sales outcomes.
  • Passion for learning and retention of technical and scientific product-related information.
  • Self-motivated achiever who consistently surpasses personal goals and exceeds standards of performance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 11+ years experience; OR Associates Degree and 9+ years experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years experience; OR Master's Degree and 5+ years experience.
  • Ability to engage in travel as may be reasonably required, including regular travel within the assigned area.
  • Satisfaction of any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners within assigned area, if applicable.
  • BA or BS degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience preferred.
  • Prior product launch experience in a highly competitive environment preferred.

Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $153,935.00 - $199,210.00.
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role).
