About the role

Gilead is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology to represent Gilead's products and services to healthcare practitioners in the Northern New Jersey territory. This role involves promoting appropriate use of Gilead products, developing territory business plans, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in oncology.
  • Actively promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate peer leadership by consistent application and modeling of compliance, behavior, and conduct.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor sales progress and create action plans to achieve goals.
  • Prepare territory budget plans and submit expenses.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal Gilead team members.
  • Collaborate with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities and communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Ensure all department personnel are fully informed of and in compliance with Gilead commercial compliance policy, all applicable federal and state laws, and guidance relating to product promotion and information dissemination.
  • Adhere to regulatory agency, state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Advanced influencing and relationship-building expertise with a focus on sales outcomes.
  • Passion for learning and retention of technical and scientific product-related information.
  • Self-motivated achiever who consistently surpasses personal goals and exceeds standards of performance, and can work autonomously.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 11+ years experience; or Associates Degree and 9+ years experience; or Bachelors Degree and 7+ years experience; or Masters Degree and 5+ years experience.
  • Ability to engage in travel as may be reasonably required.
  • Satisfaction of any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners within assigned area, if applicable.
  • BA or BS degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience preferred.
  • Proven and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets.
  • Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment preferred.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $153,935.00 - $199,210.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
