About the role
This position provides test and evaluation technician support in a lab or an aircraft production environment. The main responsibilities include fabricating and maintaining the instrumentation system, installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies, and troubleshooting electrical circuits and wiring.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Design, fabricate, build, and analyze test systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies.
- Coordinate test requirements and determine test methods and capabilities.
- Conduct system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and teardown.
- Conduct tests, analyze data, and document results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test-related problems.
- Coordinate test laboratory activities, maintenance, and repairs.
- Coach and train others and work under consultative direction.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 4 or more years of equivalent technical experience.
- 4+ years of strain gaging experience.
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or a variety of electrical components and associated equipment.
- Experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, or avionics boxes.
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
- Experience leading in a lab environment to ensure capability and readiness.
Work Environment
- This role may require working for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
- Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes are required.
- This position is for 1st shift.
