About the role
The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Test & Evaluation Lab Tech to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel.
Responsibilities
- Plans, conducts and documents complex tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
- Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
- Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
- Conducts system test preparations by guiding system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown
- Performs test article configuration control
- Conducts complex tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews
- Identifies and resolves test anomalies
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex laboratory and test-related problems
- Coordinates test laboratory activities, maintenance and repairs, and personnel training
- Assists government agencies, safety and hazardous materials teams in the event of emergencies
- Coaches and trains others
- Works under minimal direction
Requirements
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
- Associate's degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 4 or more years of equivalent technical experience
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
- Experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definition
Preferred Qualifications
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
- 3+ years of strain gaging experience
- Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication
- Experience with leading in a lab environment ensuring capability and readiness
Pay
Summary pay range: $80,750-$109,250. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
