About The Role
The Technology Services Senior Consultant is responsible for serving as the primary technology advisor and technical leader for a dedicated client environment. This role combines advanced technical expertise, strategic consulting, project leadership, and relationship management to ensure the client's technology infrastructure aligns with organizational goals. The Senior Consultant will work closely with client leadership and end users, oversee day-to-day technology operations, mentor client IT staff, and drive technology initiatives from planning through execution. Success in this role requires strong communication, professionalism, technical leadership, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
Technical Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technology consultant and trusted advisor for a dedicated client environment.
- Partner closely with client leadership and internal staff to manage and optimize technology environments, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user systems.
- Lead technology projects and strategic initiatives, coordinating priorities, resources, timelines, and successful execution.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and provide advanced troubleshooting expertise.
- Partner with our client to manage and optimize technology environments, including servers, networks, and end-user systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting, solution design, and issue resolution.
- Develop and implement technology strategies that enhance client performance and security.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with client agreements, standards, and best practices.
- Plan, recommend, and implement infrastructure improvements and system upgrades tailored to client needs.
- Provide technical direction to assigned team members, helping troubleshoot escalated issues and ensuring work meets established technical and service standards.
- Coordinate technical work across team members on assigned client engagements and projects, helping clarify responsibilities, priorities, and deadlines.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities to deliver exceptional service and results.
- Stay current with evolving technologies and recommend relevant innovations to clients.

- Assist Technology Services leadership with team workload planning, resource coordination, and identification of development needs.
- Provide input regarding team member performance and development based on direct observation and day-to-day working relationships.
- Support business development through client relationship building, proposals, and pre-sales collaboration.
- Participate in firm training programs, certifications, and professional development initiatives.
- Represent Dean Dorton at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, accountability, and technical excellence within the firm.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, technical consulting, or technology leadership roles.
- Expertise in at least four of the following core areas:
- Active Directory administration
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
- Windows Server operating systems
- Windows OS troubleshooting and support
- Backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication)
- Multi-factor Authentication and identity management
- Routing and switching (Cisco, Meraki, or equivalent)
- Endpoint security and web filtering solutions
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID
- Azure IaaS and cloud infrastructure management
- RMM and remote access platforms
- Strong communication, organization, and client service skills.
- Advanced certifications in two or more core technology areas preferred.
