Senior Technologist - Materials
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Use appropriate headings based on content.
We have "About Helion" maybe as "About the role"? Actually "About Helion" is company overview. Could be "About the role"? The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We should map content to those headings where appropriate.
We have:
- OverviewApplication About Helion: This is company overview. Could be "About the role"? But maybe better to use "About the role" for description of role? However we have "What You Will Be Doing" which is responsibilities. So we could put company overview under "About the role"? Might be odd but acceptable. Or we could omit "About the role" if not present. The instruction: "use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It says e.g., not mandatory to use all. So we can choose headings that fit.
We have:
- About Helion (company overview) -> maybe "About the role" or we could just not include a heading for that and put it in a
before responsibilities? But we need to preserve all substantive information. Could include a heading "About Helion" but that's not in the list. The instruction says use those headings for section headings; but does not forbid other headings? It says use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Likely they expect us to use those exact headings where applicable. So we should map content to those headings.
Thus:
- About the role: could contain the company overview and mission description.
- Responsibilities: "What You Will Be Doing" and the bullet list of duties.
- Requirements / Qualifications / Skills: The "Required Skills" list. Could be split into Requirements and Skills. But we can combine into Skills section.
- Benefits: list.
- Pay: compensation range.
We should not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID.
We need to remove boilerplate: EEO, equal opportunity, privacy policy, etc.
We need to output only HTML fragment.
Let's craft:
About the role
We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone. Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised $1.5 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors including Thrive Capital, LightSpeed Venture Capital, SoftBank, and others to propel us forward. Our current prototype, Polaris, has reached record-breaking plasma temperatures of 150 million degrees Celsius (13 keV). Helion is continuing to iterate and on the path to the world's first fusion power plant, Orion. This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths – values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

Check for any duplicated content: We included responsibilities both in paragraph and bullet list; the bullet list includes the paragraph items as separate bullets; we might be duplicating. The original had a paragraph "What You Will Be Doing You will apply advanced technical expertise..." then a list starting with "You Will Operate, maintain...". To avoid duplication, we could keep the paragraph as a summary and then list the detailed duties. But the instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep both the paragraph and the list items. However the paragraph content is also covered in the list items (first bullet). To avoid duplication, we could keep the paragraph as is and then list the rest (excluding the duplicate). But the list includes many items that are not in the paragraph. The first bullet "Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot..." is not exactly same as paragraph. The paragraph includes: apply advanced technical expertise..., independently execute complex test workflows..., collaborate closely..., mentor junior..., etc. Those are also in the list but maybe not exactly same wording. To be safe, we can keep the paragraph as a summary and then list the detailed duties (the "You Will Operate..." list). But we need to preserve all substantive information; the paragraph is substantive; the list is also substantive. If we keep both, we may have some overlap but that's okay as long as we don't omit anything. Duplication is not prohibited. However the instruction says "do NOT invent or summarize away detail". Duplication is not summarizing away; it's repeating. It's okay but could be considered redundant. I'd rather keep the paragraph and then the list as given (the "You Will Operate..." list). But we need to ensure we didn't miss any responsibilities from the paragraph that are not in the list. Let's compare: Paragraph sentences: 1. "You will apply advanced technical expertise to support engineering research, development, and manufacturing through hands-on materials testing, analytical system operation, and precision fabrication." 2. "In this role, you will independently execute complex test workflows, configure and maintain equipment, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure diagnostic readiness and high-quality results." 3. "You will collaborate closely with engineers to translate test requirements into reliable, real-world setups, while using critical thinking and sound judgment to solve problems and improve processes." 4. "You will also mentor junior Technologists and communicate findings through clear data analysis and reporting that informs engineering decisions." List items (You Will Operate...): - Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot materials testing and analytical equipment, including load frames, profilometers, durometers, microscopy systems, and SEM - Execute test plans in accordance with ASTM standards or collaborate with engineers to develop custom test methodologies, including sample preparation, fixturing, and data analysis - Configure and validate test setups to ensure accurate, repeatable results and alignment with engineering intent - Document procedures, calibration activities, and test results with clarity and discipline to support quality and traceability - Analyze and communicate data effectively to inform design decisions and improve system performance - Lead troubleshooting efforts across mechanical systems, instrumentation, and workflows, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions - Design and fabricate fixtures and components to support testing needs, ensuring precision and reliability - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early career Technologists on equipment operation, fabrication techniques, and safe work practices - Develop working knowledge of radiation safety practices, including contamination control, monitoring techniques, and controlled-area workflows - Partner with engineers to interpret requirements and translate them into robust testing processes that generate meaningful performance data Now map: Paragraph 1: apply advanced technical expertise... hands-on materials testing, analytical system operation, precision fabrication. This is covered by first bullet (operate, maintain, troubleshoot equipment) and maybe also by "design and fabricate fixtures". Not exact but close. Paragraph 2: independently execute complex test workflows, configure and maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues. Covered by bullets: execute test plans, configure and validate test setups, lead troubleshooting efforts. Paragraph 3: collaborate closely with engineers to translate test requirements into reliable, real-world setups, using critical thinking and sound judgment to solve problems and improve processes. Covered by bullet: partner with engineers to interpret requirements and translate them into robust testing processes; also execute test plans in accordance with ASTM or develop custom methodologies. Paragraph 4: mentor junior Technologists and communicate findings through clear data analysis and reporting that informs engineering decisions. Covered by bullet: provide mentorship and technical guidance
