Senior Technican - Construction Services

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Senior Construction Materials Technician to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role offers a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

About the role

The Senior Construction Materials Technician performs testing (e.g., soil, concrete), project-specific observation, inspection duties, and provides assessment data under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Utilize, read, and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods to observe site activities, perform tasks, and interpret results
• Attend project meetings independently and communicate effectively with clients and project teams
• Perform duties requiring mental and physical capabilities, including lifting, moving, pushing, and pulling 30–50 pounds frequently (occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance)
• Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Kneel, squat, climb, walk, and stand for long periods

Requirements

• ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification
• Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Reinforced Steel certifications
• Asphalt Level 1B Roadway Specialist certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Ability to work off-shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discriminate sounds

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• NICET II (geotechnical, construction, construction material testing, or soils)
