Description Position Summary The Senior Specialist - Construction Technology serves as MacAllister Machinery's senior technical subject matter expert for advanced Cat technology solutions, including Cat Command, Autonomy, Cat Detect, Cat Payload, and VisionLink Productivity. As the senior technical progression from the Fleet Solutions Specialist role, this position leads advanced technology deployments, commissioning, customer enablement, and adoption initiatives while serving as the primary technical resource for emerging construction technologies. The role also supports the growth of MacAllister's advanced technology business through customer demonstrations, Cat Command rental program leadership, and technology adoption initiatives. Working closely with Sales, Product Support, SITECH, Caterpillar, and customers, the Senior Specialist ensures technology solutions are successfully deployed, adopted, and delivering measurable customer value. Position Duties/Responsibilities Lead the planning, commissioning, and operational readiness of advanced Cat technology solutions, including Cat Command, MineStar, Cat Detect, Cat Payload, VisionLink Productivity, and emerging Autonomy platforms, coordinating equipment ordering, hardware procurement, site readiness, software activation, validation, and go-live activities.Serve as MacAllister's primary project lead and customer liaison for advanced technology implementations, partnering with customers, Caterpillar personnel, CDI resources, SITECH, Sales, Rental, and Product Support teams to ensure successful deployment and long-term customer success.Independently evaluate customer applications, machine configurations, operational workflows, site readiness requirements, and deployment risks; determine deployment strategies, commissioning requirements, resource needs, and training plans aligned with customer objectives, Caterpillar standards, and MacAllister business goals.Lead the development, deployment, utilization, and growth of MacAllister's Cat Command demonstration and rental program, including command stations, equipped machines, customer demonstrations, dealer-to-dealer rentals, customer rental opportunities, and related revenue-generating technology initiatives.Drive technology adoption, utilization, and customer value realization by providing onboarding, training, operational guidance, and post-deployment support while identifying barriers and implementing strategies to improve customer outcomes and reduce churn.Conduct customer demonstrations, technology showcases, trade show events, and pre-sale activities to validate application fit, demonstrate customer value, and support technology sales growth.Monitor commissioned site performance, customer utilization, adoption trends, and technology outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and expanded technology utilization.Serve as the senior technical escalation point and subject matter expert for advanced machine technologies, providing consultation, troubleshooting support, and technical guidance to customers, Fleet Solutions, Sales, Product Support, SITECH, and Caterpillar personnel.Identify and develop opportunities to expand advanced technology adoption through rentals, commissioning services, operator training, consulting services, and emerging Caterpillar automation and autonomy initiatives.Support Caterpillar technology growth objectives by promoting advanced technology solutions and helping customers achieve measurable improvements in safety, productivity, utilization, and operational efficiencyCollaborate with SITECH technicians and service leadership to coordinate installation, field service, commissioning, and ongoing customer support activities for advanced technology solutions while maintaining ownership of customer engagement, technology adoption, training, and value realization. Supervisory Responsibilities This role has no formal responsibility for supervising direct reports. However, the Senior Specialist - Construction Technology provides technical leadership, coaching, and escalation support to Fleet Solutions Specialists, Sales, Product Support, SITECH, and other internal teams related to advanced Cat machine technology deployments. The role may lead cross-functional project teams during customer deployments, commissioning activities, demonstrations, and technology adoption initiatives. Position Requirements Required High School Diploma or GET equivalentAssociate’s degree, technical school certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field.7 years or more of experience with Caterpillar equipment, heavy equipment technology, product support, equipment sales, fleet management, or related construction technology functions, including experience supporting customer-facing technology solutions.Experience in equipment Sales, Product Support, Service, Fleet Management, construction technology, or related heave equipment operations.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively across Indiana and Michigan service territories Preferred Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Completion of Caterpillar technology training and certifications involving Cat Command, Cat Detect, Cat Payload, VisionLink Productivity, MineStar, Automation, or Autonomy technologies.1-year leading customer-facing technology deployments, commissioning activities, site validation, or operational readiness programs.
