Kelly is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Specialist for a 6-month opportunity in Seadrift, Texas.

About the Role

The Senior Construction Specialist leads the construction management work process discipline for instrument and electrical work (I/E), demonstrating lead competencies in directing others, staffing, planning, and controlling projects. This role ensures construction of facilities meets EH&S, quality, cost, and schedule requirements. Typically, the role leads several intermediate sites or a single large project, requiring expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in the discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the use of construction safety best practices and drive a zero-incident safety culture on contracts.
  • Lead the Construction Management staff on a project, including proactive leadership in safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Develop a Construction Management plan to identify resource needs for a specific project.
  • Ensure the budget reflects the plan and collaborate with the project manager to resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with the construction resource leader to fill positions.
  • Provide construction expertise in the Front End Loading (FEL) of a project.
  • Minimize construction costs through planning, technology, application, and constructability techniques.
  • Provide input to the Contract Labor Strategy.
  • Manage construction companies, labor contracts, resolve claims, and monitor/control labor costs.
  • Understand and utilize the Global Capital Work Process (GPM) Construction Work Process discipline.
  • Utilize Construction expertise networks.
  • Assist in developing effective construction integrated schedules.
  • Ensure construction schedules are met or communicate discrepancies in a timely fashion.
  • Minimize start-up and operability issues through quality plans.
  • Coach and mentor new and inexperienced construction personnel.
  • Use in-depth knowledge of internal and external standards and constructability processes.
  • Drive the utilization of best practices and technology on projects.
  • Provide continuous improvement feedback to business technology centers on most effective technology (MET).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
  • OR equivalent 10+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.

Schedule

This role will work either a 5/10 or 4/10 schedule, depending on workload.

Pay

Pay rate is up to $60.00/hour, depending on experience level. Per diem is a possibility based on home location.
