Senior Technical Writer
About the role
The Senior Technical Writer at CGS provides consultative, analytical, and documentation support for a large Federal agency initiative. CGS collaborates with motivated, highly skilled, and creative individuals to innovate government technology.
Responsibilities
- Draft and develop technical documentation for a variety of IT projects
- Work closely with project stakeholders to establish technical processes and procedures
- Document projects throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Prepare status reports for multiple ongoing projects and related documentation efforts
- Aid in both user and administrator-level documentation
Qualifications
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- 5+ years experience developing technical documentation
- 3+ years experience developing user documentation
- Familiarity with industry-standard technical summarization and reporting techniques, including Agile project management
- Ability to produce quality work independently or in a group setting
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
- Willingness and ability to pass background check/security screening
