Senior Technical Writer
About the role
The Senior Technical Writer at CGS provides consultative, analytical, and documentation support for a large Federal agency initiative. CGS collaborates with clients to innovate and solve complex problems using advanced technology.
Responsibilities
- Draft and develop technical documentation for a variety of IT projects
- Work closely with project stakeholders to establish technical processes and procedures
- Document projects throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Prepare status reports for multiple ongoing projects and related documentation efforts
- Aid in both user and administrator-level documentation
Qualifications
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- 5+ years experience developing technical documentation
- 3+ years experience developing user documentation
- Familiarity with industry-standard technical summarization and reporting techniques, including Agile project management
- Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Visio
- Ability to work independently or in teams
- Willingness and ability to pass background checks and security screenings
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence/Analysis applications
- Experience with Government software development policies and procedures
- Client-facing communication experience
- Federal Agency issued security clearance
