Senior Technical Training Instructor

Role Summary

The Senior Technical Training Instructor is responsible for delivering and instructing timely and effective training solutions that support both Alaska Airlines (AS) and/or Hawaiian Airlines (HA) aircraft maintenance qualifications.

Key Duties

• Counsels and trains M&E personnel and contract vendor agencies in airframe/powerplant, avionics, and systems subject areas.

• Presents initial indoctrination, systems, and recurrent training/certifications.

• Tracks and maintains the currency of qualifications and authorizations for maintenance personnel.

• Develops and conducts training that resolves specific aircraft discrepancies.

• Trains maintenance personnel on new equipment and techniques.

• Maintains all assigned technical training department-controlled documents in current revision status.

• Attends manufacturer-supplied training to enhance instructor knowledge and skills.

• Provides immediate corrective action and long-term solutions to audit findings as applicable to the M&E training program.

• Coordinates and ensures a seamless training program that complies with CFRs, GPM policies and procedures, and training program guidelines.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required

• 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance/repair, performing as an Airframe, Powerplant, and/or Avionics technician in either commercial or military aviation.

• Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

• Experience conducting aviation related instruction, training, coaching, or on the job training.

• Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).

• Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.

• Ability to work all shifts as required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Minimum age of 18.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Mechanic Experience

• Mechanic certificate with A&P ratings or a Repairman’s Certificate.

• Familiarity with versions of the Boeing 737, A330, A321 and 787.

• Experience with adult learning theory and the ADDIE model of instructional design.

• Experience with distance learning and/or eCourse instructional delivery methodologies.

• Familiarity with Enterprise Learning Management Systems (e.g., Greenlight, Silkroad, Cornerstone).

• Familiarity with courseware development tools (e.g., Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Creative Cloud suite, Studio 13, Lectora).

Salary Range

$99,850 -- $149,800 / year

Salary details pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
