Senior Technical Project Manager (Telecom, Broadband)

About the role
The Senior Technical Project Manager drives telecom/broadband projects (network upgrades, software deployments, AIOps) from inception to completion. Acting as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, the role manages scope, budget, and timelines using Agile/Scrum, identifies risks, and ensures smooth delivery. The position focuses on innovation, process improvement, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced telecom/ISP environment, leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance project execution, reporting, and delivery predictability.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans, define milestones, allocate resources, and manage end-to-end delivery of technical solutions (network, software, platforms).
- Use AI-assisted tools to support project planning, scheduling, risk management, and milestone development.
- Leverage automation tools to maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product, DevOps, Sales, and Business teams for alignment and communication.
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and drive continuous process improvement in development lifecycles.
- Provide regular updates, report on progress, and present solutions/findings to leadership, utilizing AI-assisted tools to generate reports, summaries, and insights.
- Manage financial and milestone tracking, ensuring clear, concise project status updates to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify, track, and resolve project roadblocks and bottlenecks.
- Manage projects involving broadband devices (DOCSIS, PON, Wi-Fi), AI/ML, automation, or sales support initiatives, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Leverage AI tools to automate reporting, status updates, and documentation.
- Utilize automation to streamline project workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Apply AI-assisted analysis to improve risk management, dependency tracking, and issue resolution.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Technology, or equivalent.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) and/or SAFe Certified Product Owner/Product Manager (SCPO) with at least two years of active facilitation.
- Minimum three years as a Project Manager on cross-functional programs spanning Engineering, Product, DevOps, and stakeholders.
- Minimum five years managing technical projects in telecom, ISP, cable/broadband, SaaS, or large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects (Engineering, Product, DevOps) involving five or more concurrent workstreams.
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, including boards, workflows, and dashboards (five or more years).
- Experience analyzing, planning, and developing scheduled projects using Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to hold regular technical team meetings to address project-related questions or challenges.
- Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools for project planning, reporting, and delivery tracking.
- Familiarity with automation tools and Agile tool integrations (e.g., Jira automation).
- Ability to use data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve delivery outcomes.
- At least one program evidencing five or more concurrent workstreams.
- Agile Methodology exposure, including PI planning or scrum-of-scrums (five or more years).
