Senior Technical Program Manager

About the role
The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead and motivate teams by introducing efficient processes, driving innovative and measurable solutions to maximize efficiency, while collaborating with product development teams to create the best experiences for customers. This role serves as the central program leader responsible for driving the successful execution of complex, cross-functional technical programs spanning multiple engineering teams, product areas, and go-to-market functions. You will own the integrated program schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and ensure end-to-end system readiness from inception through general availability (GA) launch. This position requires technical depth to dive into specific engineering or product issues and drive them to closure. The role manages programs of large scope, impact, and complexity through all phases of the lifecycle and reports to the Sr. Manager, Program Management.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders across multiple teams to align roadmaps, delivery timelines, resource planning, and execution priorities.
- Serve as the central coordination point for complex cross-functional initiatives, driving alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, GTM, Compliance, Legal, and other stakeholder groups.
- Define end-to-end program structures, identify participating teams, and manage cross-functional dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
- Own integrated program plans and delivery milestones, maintaining visibility into schedules, risks, dependencies, and critical path activities.
- Proactively identify execution risks, develop mitigation plans, and drive resolution of issues that could impact delivery commitments.
- Lead launch readiness and operational readiness activities, partnering with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and execution of new products, features, and organizational initiatives.
- Own centralized intake, prioritization, and governance processes, ensuring work is evaluated, routed, tracked, and communicated through appropriate decision-making forums.
- Establish and drive program governance, reporting mechanisms, KPIs, and executive communications to provide visibility into portfolio health and execution progress.
- Communicate program status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, and operating mechanisms to enhance execution effectiveness, scalability, and organizational efficiency.
- Partner with teams to improve planning, execution, and delivery practices while promoting adoption of program management best practices.
- Lead complex initiatives that span multiple organizations, balancing competing priorities and driving alignment toward shared business outcomes.
Requirements
- 8+ years leading complex, cross-functional, global programs in SaaS-based products.
- Experience operating as a system-level or cross-pillar Technical Program Manager (TPM), owning integrated program schedules and managing dependencies across multiple engineering teams and product areas.
- Experience with complex system architectures, data flows, and technical trade-offs, and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineers without being hands-on.
- Experience using Atlassian Toolset: Jira, Confluence, Portfolio/Advanced Reporting, etc.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
- Equally confident working with executive team members as with software developers.
- Ability to distill complex and nuanced requirements into understandable concepts for all relevant internal partners.
- Skilled at dealing with ambiguity in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
- Experience in a company that has scaled, or experience in both small and large-scale software development organizations.
- Strong business acumen and technical background, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts and challenges across wide-ranging audiences.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or coaching junior TPMs and contributing to team-wide program management frameworks.
Schedule
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. Minimum 2 days per week in-office; frequency may vary by team but will include a weekly in-office expectation.
Pay
Pay for this position is based on geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The following details pay ranges in specific locations:
- California: $146,400.00 - $235,375.00 base salary
- Washington, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York (including NYC metro area): $140,100.00 - $206,775.00 base salary
This role is also eligible for the following bonus:
- Sales personnel: variable incentive pay dependent on achievement of pre-established sales goals.
- Non-Sales roles: company bonus plan, calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
