Senior Technical Financial Consultant
About the role
Koniag Management Services (KMS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Financial Consultant with DoD accounting expertise to join our collaborative team supporting KMS and our government customer at Fort Lee, VA. This role will focus on financial management, contracting integration, and alignment with federal and Department of Defense requirements for the modernization and implementation of an SAP ERP solution across the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ERP modernization, system implementation, and financial process improvements.
- Provide financial and technical expertise related to the deployment and integration of enterprise financial management solutions.
- Support SAP financial modules and functionality, with direct SAP financial experience strongly preferred.
- Apply knowledge of Federal GAAP, U.S. Treasury requirements, and Department of Defense financial standards and frameworks, including DFAS, SFIS, and DIFS.
- Assist with the integration of financial and contracting processes within the SAP ERP environment.
- Participate as a member of an Agile or Scrum team, utilizing task and project management tools such as Jira.
- Coordinate with technical, financial, contracting, and business stakeholders to identify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful system implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial management, ERP implementation, financial systems, or related consulting.
- Experience supporting financial management or system implementation within the federal government, Department of Defense, public sector, or retail/grocery industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP financial processes and enterprise financial systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
