About the role

Zeel is seeking a seasoned Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their needs and provide technical guidance to help them implement and optimize their payment experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work out of our San Francisco office on a hybrid schedule (Tuesday through Thursday in-office)
  • Understand and explain technical concepts to customers
  • Enjoy working with customers directly and spending most of your day on live calls learning from users
  • Thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Have a process-oriented mindset and ability to drive consensus across cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion
  • Enjoy interacting with internal and external stakeholders and drawing insights and takeaways from disparate conversations
  • In partnership with business + product leaders, identify and accelerate the strategy, implementation, program management, and operationalization of key partner initiatives across several verticals at Zeal
  • Own the relationships with our partners, and advocate for them internally
  • Understand their problems and execute on the solution
  • Partner with product and engineering to solve technical problems for customers and build helpful technical guides to assist customers with implementation
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships across Zeal’s and our partner’s leadership teams, becoming a trusted thought partner on all things program management, fintech, and partner growth
  • Ideate with the Program Management Team and execute on initiatives to drive-down integration time, reduce integration churn, and increase customer NPS + resign percentages

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical account management, with 8+ years of total work experience at tech companies
  • Able to understand and explain technical concepts to customers
  • Enjoy working with the customer directly, and spending most of your day on live calls learning from users
  • Thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Have a process-oriented mindset and ability to drive consensus across cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion
  • Enjoy interacting with internal and external stakeholders and can draw insights and takeaways from disparate conversations

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience in customer facing roles at startups in the API, fintech, or HR tech space
  • Prior experience in cross-selling/up-selling customers
