Senior Technical Account Manager
Position Summary
As a Technical Account Manager professional, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by leveraging your technical expertise and sales acumen. You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to understand the technical aspects of our offerings and effectively communicate their value to potential clients. This hybrid role combines technical knowledge with sales skills to identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and close deals. This position reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Growth Development.

- Act as the primary technical consultant for opportunities involving complicated system solutions that mesh Banner platforms with industrial network systems
- Lead the effort to promote best practices for complex solutions within the Banner sales team
- Develop reference materials, white papers, and support videos to improve the customer experience and share internally
- Provide pre-sale and post-sale technical support for customers
- Be a resource for the Business Development Teams with focus on growth verticals in the Data Center, Aerospace, Mobility, Mining, and Metals space
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and sellers
- Attend sales calls as needed; you'll also provide selling materials (samples, product information, technical documents, etc.) and presentations for key accounts and new product opportunities
- Define, coordinate, and prioritize customer feedback and ideas into engineering requirements for future enhancements, then work closely with the Business Development Teams (Data Center, Aerospace, Mobile Equipment) and engineering to implement those enhancements
- Promote and train new products to target customers
- Develop methods and best practices for delivering outstanding service to our customers
- Help expand our BOM at the customer
- File on time, comprehensive trip reports into the SFDC account
- Report on competitive products/applications at customer sites
- Project Coordination: Lead national and global projects, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Consultative Selling: Provide expert consultations to identify customer pain points and offer creative, cost-effective solutions

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant field AND 3 to 5 years of direct field sales experience within a market segment, OR Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant field and 10+ years of direct field sales experience
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels—whether it's factory control engineers or executive leadership
- Expertise in driving sales through the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure
- Strong background in technical sales or industrial automation (preferred)
- Technically proficient in automation hardware and software (preferred)
- Familiarity with sales reporting, forecasting, and managing sales metrics (preferred)
- High motivation and a strong desire to succeed and exceed targets (preferred)
- Able to travel up to 50%, mainly domestic, with potential for international travel throughout North America
Working Environment
- Corporate office environment – indoor and climate-controlled
- Frequent interaction with internal departments, cross-functional teams, or external partners, as well as employees across all levels of the organization—including entry-level staff, senior leadership, clients, or vendors
- Exposure to moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and temperature changes in production areas
- PPE may be required in specific areas (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection)
- Field position working on-site at customers, from your car, and from your home depending on the day
- Exposure to various manufacturing, warehousing, or related industrial locations
- A dynamic, remote-based office environment where innovation and teamwork thrive
- Significant travel (up to 50%) to meet customers and distributors, including both domestic and potential international travel

- Ability to travel by car/airplane to customer sites frequently 50%

Base Pay Range: $133,046.00 - $172,788.00. The pay range for this role varies based on geographic location. Final salary will be determined by the candidate's location, experience, and qualifications.
