Responsibilities
- Manage and review tax returns for high net worth individuals and trusts (Form 1040 and 1041)
- Provide tax planning and research to optimize tax strategies for clients
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Oversee the preparation of tax filings and documentation for various entities including REITs
- Collaborate with the wealth management team to align tax strategies with client goals
- Conduct tax reviews and provide recommendations for improvements in tax processes
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting clients
- Supervise and mentor junior staff in tax accounting and compliance practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or tax advisory roles
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and tax accounting principles
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and trust/estate tax issues
- Proficiency in tax research and analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
