Tax Manager & Senior Manager (HNW/Estate Trust)

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Tax Manager to lead complex engagements involving HNWIs, estates, trusts, and gift tax planning. The ideal candidate is a tax leader who enjoys building long-term client relationships and navigating nuanced tax situations involving wealth, succession, and legacy planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review complex individual, fiduciary (Form 1041), estate (Form 706), and gift tax (Form 709) returns
• Advises HNWI clients on estate planning, trust structuring, charitable giving, and wealth transfer strategies
• Leads client engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring high-quality service and compliance
• Provides oversight, mentoring, and technical training to tax staff and seniors
• Liaises with attorneys, investment advisors, and fiduciaries to coordinate tax strategies
• Stays current on federal and state tax laws impacting estates, trusts, and wealthy individuals
• Identifies planning opportunities and contributes to business development activities
• Maintains strong client relationships and serves as the go-to tax resource

Basic Qualifications

• CPA required; MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation strongly preferred
• Minimum 5–7 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on HNWIs, estates, and trusts
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state fiduciary and estate tax laws
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to clients
• Prominent leadership and client management abilities
• Experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar)
