Senior Tax/Commercial Accountant
About the role
We are seeking a senior tax accountant to join our South Portland office. The individual should be able to work independently, prepare all types of income tax returns, prepare individual and business tax projections, evaluate and research tax issues that may arise, solve problems and provide solutions, prepare financial statements, possess strong communication skills and leadership ability, and be committed to providing quality service. This is an in-person position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various types of tax returns.
- Prepare audit risk assessments and audit plans for our commercial audits.
- Audit fieldwork.
- Prepare audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements.
- Assist staff with questions that may arise.
- Development of client relationships.
- Assist other departments and offices during off season.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least three years’ experience in public accounting specific to tax and audit preparation.
- CPA not required, but preferred. Candidates who do not have a CPA license should be actively working towards obtaining their license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Minimal travel but might be required for local clients and assistance with our NH office.
