Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews federal, state, and local tax returns for all Brookdale’s corporate and partnership entities.
- Oversees appeals, sales tax returns, and other corporate filings.
- Prepares and reviews the analysis of tax adjustments and general ledger allocations.
- Prepares and reviews federal tax returns for corporate and partnership entities.
- Aids in the quarterly and annual tax provision for consolidated group as well as stand-alone reporting.
- Aids in fixed assets records regarding determining when to capitalize or expense for tax purposes as well as determining tax lives, methods and conventions.
- Prepares quarterly and annual roll-forward analysis and annual gain/loss analysis.
- Main point of contact for CorpTax software to prepare and electronically file tax returns.
- Utilizes computer software for tax research, calendar system and tax planning.
- Participates in department discussions by bringing different perspectives to current procedures and processes.
- Provides technical guidance to Tax Analysts.
- Reviews the work of the Analyst and provides informal feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA or MST a plus.
