Job Description and Duties

We are hiring a Senior Talent Engagement Analyst to join the Talent team! In this role you will play a key role in ODI’s talent acquisition, classification and compensation analysis, workforce planning, employee engagement, and workforce compliance activities.

  • Partner with hiring managers to develop Requests for Personnel Action (RPA) packages, duty statements, classification recommendations, and recruitment strategies
  • Conduct classification allocation analysis, workforce planning activities, and compensation research to support strategic staffing decisions
  • Develop and manage recruitment efforts for civil service, exempt, and CEA positions
  • Act as a strategic liaison between ODI leadership, CalHR, and hiring managers
  • Analyze workforce trends, employee feedback, and organizational data to develop recommendations that improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future workforce needs
  • Lead onboarding efforts and continuously improve the new employee experience
  • Support employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and DEIB initiatives
  • Monitor workforce compliance activities and support organizational reporting efforts
  • Conduct research and develop recommendations that help ODI attract, retain, and develop a high-performing workforce

Workplace Location

ODI staff reside throughout California. The employee’s workstation is located in Sacramento, CA or Oakland, CA. Travel to the Sacramento headquarters may be required as needed. This position provides telework opportunities in accordance with agency telework policies.

Qualifications

  1. Describe your experience managing recruitment and staffing activities. In your response, include your experience with classification analysis, position development, recruitment strategy, candidate assessment, and selection activities. How did you ensure compliance with applicable policies and timelines?
  2. Describe a time when you partnered with leadership, hiring managers, or other stakeholders to address a workforce, staffing, or organizational challenge. What was your role, what actions did you take, and what was the outcome?
  3. Describe a workforce, employee engagement, DEIB, or organizational culture initiative that you helped develop, implement, or evaluate. What was the objective, what was your role, and what were the results?
