Senior Systems Engineer **Sign-on Bonus Potential**
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), you will derive an understanding of system requirements from stakeholder needs, establish and maintain end-to-end development environments, and coordinate system integration activities among multiple teams. You will ensure complete coverage of all interfaces, capture interface designs in a common format, and store interface data in a shared repository. The role involves applying system engineering principles to develop and allocate system, functional, hardware, software, facility, and personnel requirements.

Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, plus typically 20+ years of related experience (or equivalent, such as PhD + 15 years or Master’s + 18 years). ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex software systems
- Conduct requirements elicitation, analysis, and functional allocation; lead system requirements reviews
- Develop concepts of operation, interface standards, system architectures, and perform technical assessments
- Create and maintain system engineering documentation (e.g., System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents)
- Conduct end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize lifecycle operations
- Develop system design alternatives considering cost, reuse, complexity, risk, and scalability
- Define mitigation strategies, workarounds, and fallback positions for risks; monitor and re-evaluate risks at key milestones
- Improve integration strategies based on past performance rationales
- Fully define software interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as an Agile SCRUM Master
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience generating technical documentation
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
Schedule
Hybrid work authorized, up to 16 hours per week (depending on team and workflow). Work location: Annapolis Junction, MD.
Pay
$197,000 – $250,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations. Sign-on bonus up to $25,000 for eligible candidates.
