Responsibilities

  • A key technical subject matter expert that ensures high equipment availability and optimizes system performance.
  • Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service in support of successful operation of the supply chain facility.
  • Work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize the performance and flow of the material handling equipment and lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives.
  • Serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events, ensuring proper processes and training procedures are implemented as part of root cause analysis, and proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the buildings systems, maintaining expertise around all electrical, mechanical and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS).
  • Use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to the building automation.
  • Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills and abilities, and train and coach internal technicians.
  • Support training plan development and progress follow up.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well under pressure.

Requirements

  • Two or four-year Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree / experience.
  • Available to work all days and shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays).
  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
  • Experience with installing and maintaining many types of software and hardware.
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks and teams.
  • Extensive Experience In The Following Areas:
    • Automated conveyor systems and controls
    • Work order management
    • Preventive/predictive maintenance procedures
    • Blueprint and schematic reading
    • Industrial Electrical HMI interfaces and programming
    • Industrial Controls
    • Industrial Electronics
    • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs
    • Server based controls
    • National Electrical Code (NEC)

Qualifications

  • Self-starter, possessing the ability to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, train, and coach across various resources and scenarios.

Pay

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
