Senior Systems Engineer (ONSITE)

About the Role
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers to develop creative, cost-effective solutions for ground and airborne communication systems. This role is part of the Strategic Communications team within the Mission Systems organization, specializing in advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, and integration of mission systems.
The Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems, including SATCOM (AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals, and Secure Switching Networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation.
- Define and perform lab activities, including setup, configuration management, and testing.
- Integrate solutions within their target environment (ground, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms).
- Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
- Influence policies, practices, and procedures.
- Manage small projects or processes.
- Prepare and execute Design Reviews, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing.
- Review and document changes in systems or processes to solve complex problems.
- Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action.
- Analyze and document system behaviors.
- Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, and allocation to subsystems.
- Define modeling, hardware, and software interfaces.
Requirements
- Strong integration and test experience, including test procedure development, execution, reporting, and automation.
- Proficiency with tooling such as Microsoft products or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.).
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF.
- Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT).
- System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms.
- Experience supporting software application and hardware development.
- Virtual Machine design and deployment.
- Proficiency with CAMEO or Rhapsody.
- Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to collaborate with IPT leaders, engineers, program managers, and customers.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
