About the role

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. The Strategic Communications team is seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers to create creative and cost-effective solutions for ground and airborne systems. As part of the Mission Systems organization, this role specializes in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, and integration of Mission Systems.

The Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals, and Secure Switching Networks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
  • Define and perform lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
  • Integrate solutions within their target environment
  • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals
  • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage small projects or processes
  • Manage the preparation and/or execution of Design Reviews as well as Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
  • Review minor and document moderate changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and sometimes complex problems
  • Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action
  • Analyze and document system behaviors
  • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
  • Define Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces

Requirements

  • Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test execution, test reporting, and test automation
  • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications

  • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
  • Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
  • Experience in System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
  • Experience in systems support to software application and hardware development
  • Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
  • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.

Schedule

This is an onsite role in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
