Overview
VTG is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to closing the intercept capability gap for state and local law enforcement agencies. The role is 100% onsite in Fredericksburg, VA.
Responsibilities
- Research ELSUR and prepare an Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) addendum
- Execute test plan addendum either on-site or remotely for Standards and Operational Testing
- Collect and analyze test data
- Quantify issues with ELSUR technical solutions
- Verify ELSUR technical solutions developed in accordance with CALEA, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications
- Verify ELSUR technical solutions against LE requirements
- Recommend corrective actions to ELSUR technical solution manufacturers based on test results
- Support NDCAC/CIP negotiations with manufacturers/service providers for issue closure
- Develop test plans
- Archive test data and develop ELSUR technical solutions documentation
- Generate test results reports within two weeks of solution assessment
- Collaborate with OTD Operational Units, NDCAC, and other LE agencies to share and ascertain operational/compliance information
- Brief CIP personnel on ELSUR test results and discuss any issues or concerns
Requirements
- US Citizen with a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable field
- Minimum of seven (7) years of technical experience in security requirements and system design of computer systems
- CISSP certification and training as a certified ethical hacker
- Strong experience troubleshooting networks using tools like Wireshark or packet analyzers
- Proficiency in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Sound technical aptitude for Virtual Private Network (VPN), FTP, TCP, ASN.1, IPv6, and VoIP-related protocols
- Experience with window patch management, software development, and inventory management

Benefits
Position contingent upon contract award. VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $120,000-$190,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. Offers may vary based on work experience, education, skill level, market considerations, and contractual requirements.
