Senior Systems Engineer
About the role
MaxLinear is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of state-of-the-art Integrated Circuits (IC) for Cable and Communication infrastructure and consumer applications.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems, sophisticated modem system technology, and firmware running on embedded microcontrollers.
- Understand system requirements to define and develop design verification test plans and test programs for new IC devices.
- Support the development of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), test programs, and test criteria necessary for production test.
- Provide hardware and software customer support.
- Engage in lab tests, measurement, and device issue debugging, with experience in high-speed testing (SERDES) as a plus.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Digital Communications theory, DSP algorithms, and OFDM modulation/demodulation techniques.
- Knowledge of analog and RF system principles (a plus).
- Experience in C / Matlab or similar.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, PERL, TCL); Python expertise is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, and VNA (a plus).
- Self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Board-level design and analysis experience (a plus).
Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience, or MS.
Pay
Starting base salary range: $87,000 to $122,000 annually, with eligibility for annual discretionary bonus and stock-based compensation.
