As part of the Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team, you'll be instrumental in developing the next generation of Air Traffic Control RADAR Systems and supporting existing fielded systems. Your innovations will revolutionize air traffic control and make a lasting impact on aviation worldwide.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. An active and existing DoD Secret clearance is required after day one.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by developing creative solutions to customer challenges and crafting system and product-level requirements for Air Traffic Control RADAR systems in the National Airspace System (NAS) and internationally.
  • Verify requirements by developing rigorous sell-off criteria to ensure the highest standards of performance and safety.
  • Modernize and deploy Air Traffic Control RADAR systems across the U.S. and internationally.
  • Develop solutions to modernize and integrate multiplatform air traffic systems that track commercial, military, and unmanned aircraft.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and valued consultant to the Systems Engineering team.
  • Generate technical documentation and prepare and facilitate briefings with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan, develop, and execute system and/or subsystem-level integration and test.
  • Perform data analysis using MATLAB or alternative tools.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 25-50%.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain FAA and/or DoD Secret clearance.
  • Prior experience with design, integration, and test of complex systems.
  • Experience generating technical documentation and preparing and facilitating briefings.
  • Experience planning, developing, and executing system and/or subsystem-level integration and test.
  • Experience using MATLAB or alternative tools for data analysis.
  • Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with design, integration, and test of Primary Surveillance RADAR (PSR) and Monopulse Secondary Surveillance RADAR (MSSR).
  • Experience with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Agile Development Processes.
  • Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and tools such as Cameo.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) government contracts.
  • Experience using RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, network and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with IFF and AIMS U.S. Government testing.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
