Senior Systems Analyst

About the role

This position will be located at our Corporate Office: 2355 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027

Responsibilities

  • Conducts testing, monitoring, and provides product and technical support of Credit Union financial core banking systems and third-party automation applications.
  • Participates in product development efforts and serves as an active team member on Credit Union projects.
  • Serves as an escalation point for the Service Desk and Application Administrators on automation and batch processing.
  • Supports nightly/monthly processing and financial system upgrades.
  • Participates in rotational on-call support during weekends and as needed for Credit Union systems, associated subsystems, and third-party applications.
  • Assists management and business owners in planning, supporting, and implementing standardized processes for system job processing and automation.
  • Evaluates current automation processes and makes efficiency recommendations for batch and automation while assessing operational impact and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Collects information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.
  • Configures, troubleshoots, maintains, and provides feedback regarding the core financial systems, associated subsystems, and various third-party applications.
  • Prepares detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining system capabilities and processes.
  • Conducts technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time requirements, and compatibility with current systems.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements products and systems upgrades as needed.
  • Plans, coordinates, implements, and assists in final testing of new Credit Union products, projects, and major system releases.
  • Assists the Service Desk and System Analysts with escalated problems and provides training where needed.
  • Analyzes, creates, and maintains production schedules through automation scheduling systems.
  • Ensures work performed in IT Operations is fully documented, analyzed, and properly maintained.
  • Selects among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
  • Analyzes and evaluates present or proposed business procedures, processes, or problems to define data processing needs.
  • Assists with annual disaster recovery testing and analyzes the final results.
  • Communicates with vendors and project managers regarding software/hardware issues and follows up to ensure fixes are received and tested timely and properly.
  • Analyzes and solves end-user problems that appear to arise from the use of the product.
  • Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent paperwork and database records.
  • Ensures daily, monthly, quarterly, and periodic processing are completed without incident.
  • Monitors system activity and corrects any problems that occur.
  • Responsible for automation system security and maintenance of user system access.
  • Performs routine system audits and system performance tuning.
  • Provides suggestions to management concerning cost savings and potential system changes to increase efficiency of identified systems.
  • Assists in preparing cost-benefit analyses for proposed systems.
  • Reviews automation system capabilities and workflow limitations to determine if requested automation changes are possible within the system.
  • Studies existing systems and/or applications to evaluate effectiveness and develops new procedures to improve production or workflow as required.
  • Develops new scripts/automation, creates test transactions, and validates the results.
  • Represents IT Operations on strategic projects and reports back to management.
  • Responsible for department projects and reporting to management, including development of project plans specifying goals, strategy, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, allocation of available resources, and implementation.
  • Responsible for health and growth of existing automation operations environment and provides feedback regarding health and capacity of automation and financial systems.
  • Documents changes and follows change control management procedures.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of application migrations from a mixed technology environment.
  • Ensures all hardware and software issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assists the infrastructure, application, system administrators, engineers, development, and service desk teams with escalated tickets.
  • Evaluates and recommends new technologies based on detailed business requirements provided by team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Previous experience in the financial industry preferred.

  • Knowledge of Fiserv DNA system and Automic job automation preferred.
  • Experience with databases, e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, etc., a plus.
  • Knowledge of secure file transmission and public and private key encryption/security.
  • Windows file management and permission assignment skills a plus.

Pay

Target hiring range: $96,664.36 – $120,830.45 (depending on experience and prior to any incentives this position is eligible for)
