About the role
Adolfson and Peterson Construction is hiring a Senior Systems Analyst for a large data center project around Alexandria, LA. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and software within a defined area. The Senior Systems Analyst serves as an escalation point for Systems Analysts and provides second-level support for unresolved issues. They work closely with Systems Engineers to administer, validate, and maintain company-wide software and utilities, and assist in managing day-to-day networking operations, including corporate and jobsite networks.
Responsibilities
- Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
- Deliver technical support tailored to business needs.
- Install and perform repairs on hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in office and job site locations.
- Confer with users, reference technical manuals, and conduct computer diagnostics to determine the nature of problems; provide assistance.
- Test and monitor hardware and peripheral equipment to evaluate use, effectiveness, and adequacy for the user.
- Provide assistance on the use of computers, handhelds, and peripheral hardware, including operating systems, printing, installation, integration, email, and enterprise software.
- Coordinate the setup and deployment of computer hardware and software.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot stand-alone computer software applications.
- Set up job site networks, including telephone systems, high-speed internet connections, and wireless networks.
- Maintain a system for detailing hardware/software inventory and problem resolution activities.
- Coordinate on-boarding (equipment ordering, delivery, and setup) and off-boarding (collecting company equipment and removing system access) for users.
- Provide hands-on support for local servers and the local computer network.
- Execute and own core IT processes related to IT systems, such as server backup validations, virus file updates, and device image updates.
- Ensure proper licensing and configuration of installed client-based software.
- Aid in the general administration, validation, and upkeep of company-wide software and utilities.
- Effectively manage time and priorities, reacting appropriately to business needs with little or no warning.
- Assist others in the IT department.
- Play a central role in maintaining, testing, and executing the disaster recovery (DR) environment, process, and runbook.
- Develop and implement plans and processes for project-based activities, including delegating and motivating others to participate in process improvement.
- Ensure video conferencing and presentation equipment are supported and optimized.
- Proactively collaborate with IT professionals in other regional offices.
- Assist with local hardware and software purchases, ensuring proper research, business approval, licensing, and best value while controlling costs.
- Collaborate with staff, users, and management to determine requirements for new systems or modifications.
- Act as a senior resource and escalation point for System Analysts across the firm on complicated support issues.
- Identify and incorporate process and procedure protocols to address repetitive and problematic issues.
- Lead and participate in projects as assigned.
- Build end-user technical skills.
- Provide support for owners, architects, and other outside users of AP software.
- Educate individual users when resolving problems caused by user error.
- Provide an overview for new hires on software and hardware tools used within AP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 4+ years of desktop experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in a leadership position or role.
- Strong customer support mentality.
- Ability to quickly and correctly diagnose and problem-solve issues.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- Microsoft experience, including administration, configuration, and support for Windows 10, Office 2016, and O365.
- Hands-on SCCM administration in a geographically diverse environment for end-user client updates, inventory, and imaging.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize PowerShell for configuration and management of the client-side Windows environment.
- Mobility experience, specifically with iPhone/iOS setup and support, as well as administration via MDM tools (Cisco Meraki Device Manager).
- Understanding and experience in TCP/IP, setup, management, and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless devices (CompTIA Network+).
- Demonstrated ability to install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers, computer hardware, and authorized peripheral equipment (CompTIA A+).
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work.
- Developed written, oral, and listening skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships within IT and business lines.
Pay
Estimated pay range: $64,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year.
