We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator/Technical Lead to manage and drive technical solutions, focusing on the administration of a wide variety of technologies and environments in Colorado Springs, CO. You will support multiple networks at various levels of security classification, providing full-range support services for day-to-day operations, administration, and end-to-end support. This role includes architecting, designing, and analyzing current and future infrastructure capabilities. You will participate in real-world, cutting-edge Space Situational Awareness systems that are transforming how the Space community operates.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for issue identification, diagnosis, and resolution; provide clear escalation and status communication to management and government customers.
- Manage system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to onsite system administrators and network engineers.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows and Linux Server operating systems.
- Administer and maintain latest VMware and other virtualization technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across server, storage, and networking devices, including component replacement.
- Use scripting languages (PowerShell, Unix Shell) to troubleshoot and automate routine tasks.
- Perform system builds, security hardening, and deployment across multiple DoW environments and classification levels.
- Maintain familiarity with SCI/SAP environments; understand standard SCIF process and protocols.
- Maintain multiple baseline environments and ensure configuration management compliance.
- Support access management and account administration (Active Directory, DNS).
- Install, configure, and maintain backup and recovery solutions; generate and validate Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Apply foundational networking concepts involving firewalls and routers.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work independently with a high degree of motivation; manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate and brief government leadership.
- Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate creativity, initiative, and rapid learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 10–12 years of experience, or an associate degree/high school diploma with 15+ years of experience.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of engineering systems, industry trends, virtualization, and cloud technologies aligned with government requirements.
- DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CISSP, CCNA, etc.).
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Willingness to complete a Counterintelligence polygraph for SAP access within 3 months of hire.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge and experience with cloud computing, Docker containers, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Ability to understand and implement Agile concepts and principles.
- Experience using enterprise automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet) to deploy and maintain complex environments.
- Background in configuration management and software build processes.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, SIEM, Splunk, Netwrix, and HBSS/ESS.
- Skilled in interpreting and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Experience installing and maintaining databases and application servers.
- Familiarity with the full DevOps toolchain (JIRA, GitLab, Jenkins, Fortify, Artifactory, Docker).
Working Conditions

Pay
Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
