About the role

As part of our Endpoint Security team, you will help secure the platform estate, including hardware, operating systems, databases, middleware, storage, and containers. This role involves defining and evolving technical security standards, monitoring controls and threats, remediating vulnerabilities, and improving automation to strengthen security posture.

You will collaborate closely with platform architects, server platform support teams, Information Security teams, Business Units, project managers, and asset owners in a multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Secure platform estate hardware, operating systems, databases, middleware, storage, and containers.
• Define and evolve technical security standards for endpoint security solutions, including Extended Detection and Response (XDR), virtual patching, micro-segmentation, data masking, artificial intelligence, and container security.
• Monitor security controls and threats, remediate vulnerabilities and issues, and improve automation.
• Strengthen security posture through best practices and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including platform architects, server support teams, Information Security, Business Units, and project managers.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role with a passion for IT cybersecurity.
• Practical experience managing server OS platforms such as Linux, Windows Servers, databases, and middleware application servers.
• Understanding of common cybersecurity attack principles, vectors, and technical design flaws (a huge plus).
• Very good knowledge of XDR, Container Security, Micro-segmentation, and virtual patching technologies.
• Experience or strong interest in practical AI usage, AI-assisted development, and creation of AI agents to improve cybersecurity operations, automation, analysis, and team productivity (highly beneficial).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload under pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English for cross-region collaboration.

Hi, my name is Petr Svihalek, and I’m the team manager. I started my career at DHL IT Services in 2004 as desktop support and progressed through roles in server support and Windows system management. In 2022, I moved into a management role within the Infrastructure Security team, leading the Endpoint Security team.
