About the role

Bohler’s Herndon, Warrenton, and Richmond, VA offices are seeking a Senior Survey Technician to join their growing land surveying team supporting projects throughout the Herndon area.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Evaluate and process field crew data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points for integration into engineering design
  • Perform deed plotting, base map compilation, and data verification
  • Conduct construction computations and provide technical oversight to junior staff when needed
  • Deliver and share data seamlessly between field and office teams
  • Identify and communicate technical issues or data discrepancies to leadership
  • Contribute to quality assurance through careful checking and adherence to standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in surveying, engineering, or related field a plus
  • 3+ years of CAD experience in land surveying; Civil 3D proficiency required
  • Strong understanding of deed compilation and data verification
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budget limits
  • A detail-driven mindset with a focus on Quality Control/Quality Assurance
  • SIT or Level 3+ CST certification preferred
