About the role
Bohler’s Herndon, Warrenton, and Richmond, VA offices are seeking a Senior Survey Technician to join their growing land surveying team supporting projects throughout the Herndon area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Evaluate and process field crew data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points for integration into engineering design
- Perform deed plotting, base map compilation, and data verification
- Conduct construction computations and provide technical oversight to junior staff when needed
- Deliver and share data seamlessly between field and office teams
- Identify and communicate technical issues or data discrepancies to leadership
- Contribute to quality assurance through careful checking and adherence to standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in surveying, engineering, or related field a plus
- 3+ years of CAD experience in land surveying; Civil 3D proficiency required
- Strong understanding of deed compilation and data verification
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budget limits
- A detail-driven mindset with a focus on Quality Control/Quality Assurance
- SIT or Level 3+ CST certification preferred
