We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Senior Support Worker to split time between office-based duties and community care. Two days per week will be spent in the office carrying out client visits, completing initial assessments, reviewing care plans, and conducting spot checks. The remainder of the week will be spent in the community providing high-quality care to service users with complex needs in their homes or other community settings.
Responsibilities
- Write initial assessments and review care plans
- Provide personal care with dignity and respect
- Assist service users with domestic tasks (cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc.)
- Support service users in maintaining health care and personal hygiene
- Identify individual needs and ensure appropriate support is provided
- Report incidents and complaints to your line manager
- Maintain accurate records as per policies and procedures
- Adapt to the changing needs of the service
- Assist service users in the home and wider community
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Senior Support Worker
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience with the following care tasks:
- PEG feeding
- Stoma care
- Safe use of hoists and other moving & handling equipment
- Medication management
- Epilepsy management
- Catheter care
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviour
- Good understanding of safeguarding practices
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage behaviour and support adults with complex needs and disabilities
