Senior Supervisor Mill Operations

About the Location

Our Bagdad operations in Arizona offer housing at a subsidized rate, a family-friendly atmosphere, and numerous amenities including an aquatic center, golf course, and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world's first commercial-scale concentrate leach processing facility and one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate Supervisors.
• Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules.
• Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning.
• Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriate federal and state laws and regulations.
• Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained.
• Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales.
• Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree in a technical mining-related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods, and procedures needed to complete projects.
• Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring, and administration.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Working Conditions

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
• Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
• Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random drug testing as per applicable State Laws.

Pay

The estimated annual pay range for this role is $97,500 - $138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.

Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam and all required training and/or testing. Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
