About the role

The Configuration Management EMSC Senior Supervisor is a Engineering Services leadership role at L3Harris. This role leads a Configuration Management (CM) function to establish consistency of product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team implementing established configuration management documentation, processes, and principles in an Agile development environment
  • Provides daily guidance to team members of work tasking and prioritization
  • Administers existing configuration management toolsets, to include Agile Product Data Management, Rational ClearQuest, Windchill, and/or JIRA
  • Facilitates the Configuration Change Board (CCB) process by analyzing proposed product design changes for accuracy, completeness, and to determine the effect on the overall system
  • Organizes reviews and authorizes the release of drawings and documentation specified by Program or Engineering Management
  • Provides advice and guidance on configuration management methods, tools, procedures, and requirements to project team members responsible for the creation of drawings and documentation
  • Plans for and implements continuous improvement projects
  • Acts as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration processes and records

Qualifications

  • Experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address system or process issues quickly and effectively
  • Communicate clearly across teams to ensure timely issue resolution and support business needs
  • Monitoring, preparing, and administering yearly performance reviews involves planning, tracking performance throughout the year, gathering input, documenting results, and conducting review discussions
  • Ability to learn new tools and use them, including the Agile Configuration Management Tool and basic office software
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management, parts verification, material management
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Familiarity with researching manufacturing data verifying part number details
  • Understanding of parts, parts list and drawing revision processes
  • Understanding of indented bills of material
