Senior Success Coach (Part-Time, Internal Only)
Position Summary
The Senior Success Coach position is essential to the Coaching to Complete initiative. In collaboration with faculty, Senior Success Coaches are embedded into high enrollment/low completion, gateway courses with the goal of improving success outcomes by utilizing strategies that focus on social-emotional learning and academic behavioral interventions. Duties include corresponding regularly and frequently with students on assigned class lists to facilitate regular progress and on-time completion; all significant correspondence will be documented in SSP. In addition to direct service to students and faculty, Senior Success Coaches will also collect, interpret, and utilize data and semesterly outcomes to scale and refine the existing coaching model.
Principal Accountabilities
- Collaborate with faculty partners and Tutoring and Learning Center staff to develop, deliver and revise culturally responsive communication plans, classroom interventions, and delivery of resources and services to facilitate on time progress and completion in targeted courses. Document interactions in SSP
- Train and mentor Associate Success Coaches
- Develop and present on the program to perspective campus partners and program stakeholders
- Create student- and faculty-focused surveys, collect responses, and analyze feedback to improve the student experience
- Utilize semesterly outcomes, collected data, and faculty partners to scale and refine the existing coaching model
- Benchmark other institutions with similar programs to grow and improve Sinclair's Coaching to Complete program
- Recruit and socialize new faculty partners for Coaching to Complete
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in education or similar field required
- Direct experience working with students required
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems preferred
- Experience with Data Analytics tools and/or student outcomes reporting preferred
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in problem solving required
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn new applications required
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills and ability to speak effectively to diverse audiences including administrators, faculty, and students required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with frequent interruptions, providing customer service and managing multiple concurrent assignments required
- Demonstrate strong organization and time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and produce accurate work on time and under pressure required
Pay & Schedule
- Hourly pay rate: $23.84
- Maximum of 28 hours per week
