Senior Structural Engineer, P.E
About the role
Orbital Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer, P.E. with experience in structural steel and foundation design. This is a hybrid position that will primarily support the Texas Region. The position requires experience in heavy industrial engineering projects—preferably in the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Chemicals industries.
Responsibilities
- Field engineering, structural inspections, and oversight of construction for designed repairs as they relate to work scope
- Aid with engineering studies, calculations, detailed design documents and specifications, project cost estimates, and providing installation support services
- Utilize STAAD or RISA software for analytical modeling of structures and components of structures
- Conduct structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation design
- Monitor project progress relative to project plan, schedule, and budget
- Review calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other structural engineers
- Prepare cost estimates related to structural repairs for clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Five years of prior professional experience as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas
- Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university preferred
- Field inspection experience, specifically heavy industrial facilities
- Basic AutoCAD and drafting knowledge
- Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or foundation design
- Working knowledge of STAAD or RISA analytical software or equivalent
