Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings
About the role
TYLin's Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings around the world. Our primary services include structural engineering for buildings, encompassing new construction projects, as well as renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. We offer further expertise in architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team in NYC.
Responsibilities
- Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
- Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Project Management of staff and clients.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to junior staff.
- Maintaining involvement in professional organizations to keep abreast of new industry developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
- P.E. or S.E. license would be considered an asset.
- 6-10 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required; experience with private residential projects preferred.
- Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
- Working knowledge of REVIT.
- Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.

Pay
TYLin is committed to pay equity. The base compensation range for this position is $104,000 - $116,000 annually, with adjustments based on local market conditions. We recognize that each candidate brings unique skills, experience, education, and competencies, which will be reflected in our offer.
